At our location in Malmköping is the Swedish Bus Museum, which is also part of the museum establishment there. The museum depicts the development of bus service in Sweden using vehicles, models, photographic exhibits and much more. The museum was inaugurated in the summer of 1999, as part of the celebration of 100 years of bus service in Sweden.
Exhibits
In a photographic exhibit, we portray the development of bus service in Sweden decade by decade; the development of the vehicles; service during World War II with producer gas; the trolley bus era, and much more. We also show how we believe the vehicles and services will look in the future. You'll also see bus-related items such as bus stops, two-way radios, motor, transmissions, etc. The museum is continually being improved; this winter, we are working on major improvements to the screen exhibit.
Museum admission is included in the price of your tram ride.
Each year we also have a small special exhibit on a selected bus-related
theme.
On certain days, we also operate one of the veteran buses in service as "Ringlinjen" ("the Ring Line") in the town of Malmköping.
Please visit us and see the development of one of our most common means of transport!
